Abstract
Background : Anxiety is an unpleasant symptom, a feeling of restlessness, vagueness due to uncertain discomfort and helplessness. Hospitalization can cause anxiety that makes children feel uncomfortable, restless, and threatened in a new environment. Management to reduce the impact of hospitalization experienced by children during child care, a medium is needed that can express anxiety, one of which is play therapy. Coloring picture therapy is one of the games that is in accordance with hospital principles where psychologically this game can help children express feelings of anxiety, fear, sadness, stress and emotion. Objective : To determine the description of Anxiety Reduction Nursing Care for Preschool Children who are hospitalized with anxiety at Siloam Silampari Hospital Lubuklinggau. Method : The method of writing this scientific paper is a descriptive case study. Result : When anxiety assessment was carried out using the FIS tool, the results obtained in the three patients were An. R was very anxious/severely anxious with an FIS score of 5, An. C was moderately anxious with an FIS score of 4 and An. Z was very anxious/severely anxious with an FIS score of 5. Coloring play therapy was carried out for 3 days on each child to reduce the anxiety felt by the child while being treated in the hospital. The results of the last child's anxiety level assessment were obtained, namely An. R was not anxious with an FIS score of 2, An. C was very unanxious with an FIS score of 1, and An. Z was very unanxious with an FIS score of 1. The anxiety experienced by these three patients decreased as indicated by signs of no complaints of verbalization of anxiety due to the conditions faced, restless behavior, tense behavior, difficulty sleeping, difficulty concentrating, in all three patients appeared to be in better condition and looked more comfortable. Conclusion : Coloring play therapy can reduce anxiety in preschool children due to hospitalization. Suggestion : Expected to stimulate nurses' creativity in providing nursing interventions to patients and develop critical thinking through non-pharmacological therapy.
