Abstract
This research aims to determine the differences in learning independence and social support for junior high school students who live in dormitories and those who do not live in dormitories. This research uses quantitative methods with the help of SPSS 22. The population of this research is junior high school students who live in dormitories and those who do not live in dormitories using non-probability sampling techniques. Therefore, it was determined that the aim of this research was to look at the differences in learning independence and social support between junior high school students who live in dormitories and those who do not live in dormitories. The hypothesis test in this study used a parametric test, where differences in independence showed a significance value of 0.082 and differences in social support showed a significance value of 0.0445. The results of the hypothesis test carried out using the Independent t-test showed that the hypothesis test H0 was rejected because the test obtained a significance level of (0.082) ≥ 0.05 for learning independence, and for social support it showed a significance level of (0.445) ≥ 0.05. In the hypothesis test carried out using the independent t-test, it shows that H1 is accepted because the significance level (0.070) ≥ 0.05 and also in the table it can be seen that the significance level value (0.082) ≥ 0.05. Keywords: Independent learning, social support, dormitory.
