Abstract
Background : High blood pressure, which is often called hypertension, is a serious medical condition that increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and other disorders, so slow deep breathing exercise intervention is given to produce a relaxing effect by regulating breathing slowly and relaxing the body position. Objective : To analyze changes in blood pressure before and after being given Slow Deep Breathing Exercise to hypertensive patients. Methods : This research method uses descriptive analytical design, a sample size of 29 respondents and data collection tools using observation sheets, demographic data questionnaires, and sampling tensimeters using nonprobability sampling techniques in the form of purposive sampling. Result : The results of implementing the intervention on 29 respondents showed that the systolic blood pressure was 153.31 mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure was 89.62 mmHg. Conclusion : Systolic blood pressure decreased by 3.59 and diastolic blood pressure decreased by 2.38 Suggestion : It is hoped that respondents can apply slow deep breathing exercise to control blood pressure regularly.
