Abstract

The role of a father figure is one of the important things for the growth and development of children, so that the presence of a father who cares for children can provide a good example for the next generation. The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of the role of a father figure with academic performance mediated by self-concept. This study uses a quantitative method using a Likert scale. Sampling in the study used a purposive sampling technique by giving questionnaires to respondents. In this study, the respondents were late adolescents as active students in college with an age range of 18-22 years with a total of 101 respondents. The analysis technique used descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is no influence of the role of a father figure on academic performance with a sig value of 0.343 and has a contribution of 0.006%, then there is no influence of academic performance with self-concept with a sig value of 0.338 and has a contribution of 0.009% and there is a significant influence between the role of a father figure and self-concept with a sig value of 0.013 and has a contribution of 0.6%. It can be concluded that the absence of influence of the role of the father figure on academic performance is mediated by self-concept.
