Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition or transition from childhood to adulthood, the influence of the social environment can have a positive or negative impact which leads to risky decision making. The aim of this research is to determine the ability of self-concept as a moderator of the role of father figures in making risky decisions in middle adolescence. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. Data collection used the father figure role scale with a reliability of 0.982, a risk decision making scale with a reliability of 0.912 and a self-concept scale with a reliability of 0,893. The respondents in this study were 122 middle adolescents aged 15-18 years. The results of hypothesis testing using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with a value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and a strength contribution of 11%, which means that the presence of a moderating variable (self-concept) can strengthen the influence of the role of the father figure variable on the risky decision making variable. . The conclusion is that self-concept can strengthen the role of a father figure in the tendency to make risky decisions.
