Abstract

Marriage failure and the experience of going to prison are experiences that can be "big events" in life to get a turning point. Marriage failure can be caused by one of the family factors, children who do not get ideal care from the family do not have a good role model related to their relationship with the opposite sex. The purpose of this study was to determine the dynamics of the meaning of life of women who experience marriage failure with a background of prisoners who are still in detention status. The research subjects were 2 women, with the criteria of women who experienced marriage failure more than once. Data collection was carried out through structured interviews, in addition as a complement there were significant person interviews and the Sack Sentences Complete Test (SSCT). The analysis used IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis). The results of the study showed that the subjects were able to find positive things that were obtained while in prison in the form of a comparison of experiences that were considered more enjoyable in prison than before. In addition, he felt a better life satisfaction, the freedom in the form of the will to decide something that had never been obtained before.
