Abstract

Background :Osteoarthrosis or also called osteoarthrosis or Degenerative Joint Disease is a chronic disease (non-inflammatory degeneration) and is not a systematic disease that affects joint cartilage and nearby bones. Complaints that arise in osteoarthritis sufferers are that the joints feel stiff and painful when moved. When these complaints are left to drag on for a long time, the structure of the joints will change (stiff and bent), muscle strength decreases so that the joints lose function. Non-pharmacological therapy for managing pain and complaints that arise in osteoarthritis sufferers is by doing range of motion exercises. In this condition, osteoarthritis sufferers are unable to carry out activities due to limited movement, so muscle strength can be maintained through continuous muscle use, one of which is by mobilizing joints with range of motion exercises. Objective : Apply nursing actions to osteoarthritis patients with research-based pain complaints. Methods : The design used in this scientific work report is a case study using range of motion (ROM) therapy. The number of respondents was 3 people, the intervention was carried out for 3 consecutive days from June 6 to June 8 2024 and the location was RT 32 and RT 33 RW 11 Sukarami Village, Sukarami District Result : After doing ROM exercises, the three respondents found a decrease in pain intensity, namely with an average of R1: 2.3/n, R2: 3/n, R3: 1.6/n Conclusion: There is a difference in pain intensity before doing ROM exercises and after doing ROM exercises Suggestion : It is hoped that the application of EBP will add information regarding providing ROM exercises to osteoarthritis sufferers who experience pain in the lower extremities, especially in the knees and make it a routine habit to do ROM exercises for osteoarthritis sufferers.
