Abstract

Background: Stroke causes incapacity and weakness which results in a decrease in functional ability which makes the patient dependent on people to meet their daily needs. Activities of Dailing Living (ADL) early identify the patient's level of independence in fulfilling ADLs. One way to measure Activity of Dailing Living (ADL) in stroke patients is to use the Barthel Index form. The Barthel Index is an assessment instrument that functions to measure functional independence in terms of self-care and mobility. Completing the Barthel Index assessment can be influenced by various factors including nurse compliance and workload. Objective: To determine the relationship between workload and compliance in filling out the barhel index (Activity Dailing Living) form in stroke patients at Charitas Hospital Palembang. Method: Quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach and using Kendall Tau-b research analysis. Using a total sampling technique with a total of 43 respondents, data collection tools were in the form of questionnaires and Barthel index checklists. Results: The results of the research showed that the gender frequency distribution of nurses was 35 respondents (81.4%), the majority of respondents had DIII nursing education as many as 25 respondents (41.8%), the majority of respondents had worked at the PK 3 level as many as 29 respondents (67 .4%), most respondents had light and heavy workloads as many as 15 respondents (34.9%), heavy workloads as many as 14 respondents (32.6%), most respondents were disobedient as many as 20 respondents (46%). .5 %). Bivariate analysis shows that H0 is accepted with a P value of 0.279, meaning >0.005, there is no significant relationship between workload and compliance in filling out the BartHel index form. Suggestion: All nurses must be more compliant in filling out the Barthel index form to assess patient dependency.
