Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effect of the government's political relations (political tie) on the performance of the company. This study used two control variables, namely firm size and leverage. The population in this study is a manufacturing company that is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in period 2009-2013 with using purposive sampling method to select the samples. The research sample obtained with as many as 62 companies through the process of outliers and data transformation. Testing this hypothesis using multiple linear regression analysis method by using software R 2.15.2-i386. The results show that political tie influence on firm performance. This means that hypothesis in this research is accepted.
