Abstract

This research was conducted to develop audio-based learning media for first grade students at SDK Mitra Penabur Palembang. This study adapted the 4D development research procedure. The research method uses the 4D development stage, namely Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. Data collection methods used are observation techniques, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The results of this study were divided into 3 stages. The first stage (define) is the result of research related to needs analysis. Based on the results of the needs analysis which shows that the development of learning media to help students understand the material is very much needed. The results of the second stage of research (design) relate to the selection of media and the design of the media to be developed. The results of the third stage of research (development) are the validation and testing of audio-based learning media. The development of audio-based learning media shows an average of 80% which is included in the valid category. Limited trials, in the development of audio-based learning media, showed an average of 81% which was included in the practical category. It can be concluded, audio-based learning media developed by researchers are included in the category of valid and practical to use. Keywords: Development, Media, Audio
