Abstract

This study aims to determine whether emotional intelligence variables and work motivation variables can affect the performance of private junior high school teachers in Palembang city. The population of this study were private junior high school teachers in Palembang city. The sample used was 100 respondents using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniqueThe data analysis techniques used in this research are research instrument test: validity test and reliability test, classical assumption test in the form of normality test, multicolinerity test, heteroscedasticity test; multiple linear regression analysis test, determination coefficient test and hypothesis testing (partial t test). The variables in this study were measured using a Likert scale and processed using SPSS 20. The results of this study prove that the emotional intelligence variable has a positive and significant effect on the performance of private junior high school teachers in Palembang city and work motivation has no significant effect on the performance variable of private junior high school teachers in Palembang city.
