Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability to write descriptive texts for class IIIB students using the Pop Up Book at SDK Mitra Penabur Palembang. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were 22 class IIIB students. The object of this study is pop up book media, which is used to measure the ability to write descriptive text. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and written tests. Interviews were conducted with class IIIB homeroom teachers. The test was given to subjects, namely class IIIB students, totaling 22 people. Data analysis techniques use the theory of Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the average score obtained by students in writing descriptive text was 83.32. Based on these results it can be concluded that the ability to write descriptive texts for class IIIB students using pop up books at SDK Mitra Penabur Palembang is in the very good category.
