Abstract

This study explores the relationship between religiosity, self-control, and the behavior of accessing pornographic sites among individuals with different religious and belief backgrounds. Religiosity is measured as the level of involvement in religious practices and beliefs, while self-control is the ability to manage behavior by considering positive consequences. The results of the analysis showed a significant correlation between religiosity and behavior on accessing pornographic sites (p <0.05). A higher level of religiosity is associated with a lower frequency of accessing pornographic sites. However, no significant relationship was found between self-control and the behavior of accessing pornographic sites (p = 0.248). Low negative relationship between self-control and behavior accessing porn sites is not statistically significant. This study emphasizes that religious factors play an important role in reducing the behavior of accessing pornographic sites in individuals, while the role of self-control cannot be ascertained significantly. These results contribute to an understanding of prevention and interventions to reduce excessive consumption of pornographic content in religiously diverse populations.
