Abstract
Palembang City is a big city with high mobility so it needs an organized traffic system. Where is one of the congestion points in the city of Palembang located at the Patal intersection where the peak flow is in the morning, afternoon and evening, vehicles passing both leaving the road and entering the road on each road section of the Patal intersection. By looking at the problems that occur, an initial conceptual model is designed with an Activity Cycle Diagram or known as an ACD diagram to represent the initial conditions in the field. Then the conceptual model is translated into a simulation with ARENA software. Arena software is used because it can simulate the situation with its capabilities and flexibility. Arena Software can simulate scenarios for improving the traffic system by change the duration of the green traffic light and a good scenario will be taken that minimizes waiting time at the Patal intersection. The results of the ARENA simulation show that the scenario of setting the duration of the traffic light can reduce the queue waiting time that occurs at the Patal intersection. Changes to the duration of traffic lights can reduce the waiting time for vehicles in the morning conditions for the AKBP Cek Agus road section, which was originally 54.35 to 51.81 with a percentage of 5%, Jalan R. Sukamto remains 23.49 with a percentage of 0%, Jalan MP. Mangkunegara, which was originally 81.67, became 44.93 with a percentage of 45%, Jalan Resident Abdul Rozak remained 52.52 with a percentage of 0%. In daytime conditions for AKBP Cek Agus road, which was originally 48.42 to 47.81 with a percentage of 1%, Jalan R. Sukamto remains 25.45 with a percentage of 0%, Jalan MP. Mangkunegara, which was originally 39.27, became 39.01 with a percentage of 1%, Jalan Resident Abdul Rozak, which was originally 64.86, became 52.88 with a percentage of 18%. Whereas in the afternoon conditions for AKBP Cek Agus road which was originally 46.99 to 42.97 with a percentage of 9%, Jalan R. Sukamto which was originally 24.21 to 23.58 with a percentage of 3%, Jalan MP. Mangkunegara, which was originally 43.12, became 42.92 with a percentage of 1%, Jalan Resident Abdul Rozak, which was originally 65.15, became 57.74 with a percentage of 11%.
