Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between parental support and student learning outcomes. Parental support itself can be viewed from emotional support, instrumental support, informational support, and appreciation support. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques in this study used source triangulation in the form of questionnaires, interviews and documentation in accordance with what the authors did to obtain data. Data analysis techniques in this study used data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions which were reviewed when the authors conducted the research. The subjects of this study were students in class VA and VB SD Xaverius 3 Palembang. This research also uses supporting data to get even better results, namely interviews with parents and also leggers on the even mid semester learning outcomes of students in class VA and VB SD Xaverius 3 Palembang. The results of this study indicate that there is support provided by parents, both emotional support, instrumental support, informative support, and appreciation support for students. This support then has an impact on student learning outcomes, so that the support provided by these parents also has a relationship to the cognitive learning outcomes of students in class VA and VB.
