Abstract

Basically all living things (plants, animals and humans) have different characters from one another. Of course, not only humans need a place to live, but also animals. In general, animals are kept by humans to accompany or even guard the house. The most common animals kept are dogs and cats. However, not all animals are fortunate to be able to live under the same roof as humans and receive love. Many of them, like dogs and cats, live wild on the streets because they were abandoned and have to face various problems such as hunger, being victims of violence, hit and run, and contracting disease. If this condition is allowed to continue, new problems will arise, such as causing traffic accidents, turning an area into a slum, and can trigger new diseases. In Indonesia there are very few proper shelters for abandoned animals. Therefore, a shelter for abandoned animals is needed that meets international standards that apply ecological architecture and technology in order to achieve sustainable architecture and pay attention to the environment in the future. Key words: Abandoned animals, Animal shelters, Ecological architecture and technology, Sustainable architecture
