Abstract
Background: Hypertension can be a health problem that is potentially fatal and can affect people in both developed and developing countries. Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension can be treated both pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. One of the non-pharmacological ways that can be done is the autogenic relaxation technique. Autogenic relaxation is relaxation from oneself by using short words or sentences that can make the mind calm. Purpose: This application aims to analyze nursing care with the intervention of autogenic relaxation techniques on blood pressure in hypertensive patients Methods: In this study using the case-stay method with observations of hypertensive patients who were given autogenic relaxation therapy 10-20 minutes for 3x24 hours 2 times in a day. Results: The results obtained from the application of autogenic relaxation in hypertensive patients were a significant decrease in clients after 3 days of intervention on client I with initial blood pressure of 160/101mmHg to 138/87 mmHg. In client II with initial blood pressure of 143/95 mmHg to 120/78 mmHg. Advice: hopefully that this application can be used as a relaxation technique that is carried out independently to control or reduce blood pressure.
