Abstract

People with disabilities often lack attention in social life within society, even though they have the same rights as the general population. In the city of Palembang, the number of people with disabilities is relatively high, as based on the World Health Organization (WHO), the average percentage of disabled individuals in developed cities only reaches 10%. However, the limited and minimal facilities of disability social centers present challenges in providing adequate support. By constructing a disability social center with an inclusive design, good physical accessibility, and considering various types of disabilities, it is hoped that the barriers faced by people with disabilities in social life can be overcome. Therefore, with the existence of a building like a disability social center, it is expected to provide services that meet the needs of people with disabilities and become a platform with a forefront design that takes into account their behaviors. Through this synergy, the disability social center is expected to become a real solution in reducing social disparities and providing better opportunities for people with disabilities in Palembang.
