Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to know the result of comparability between family firms and non family firms based on financial performance and market value of the firm. Secondary data in this research was obtained from www.sahamok.com, www.yahoofinance.com, and www.duniainvestasi.com and also annual report and financial statement which downloaded from www.idx.co.id. The sampling in this research are using purposive sampling technique with criterias, firms are registered in the manufacturing sector during the period of research, the firms also has complete data during the observation period and on the measurement of market value of the firm, the financial statements using the Rupiah exchange rate. The data analysis is using independent sample t test. The conclusion of this research shows that there are no significant difference in the rate of financial performance variable between family firm and non family firm whereas in the market value of firm variable, there are significant difference between family firms and non family firms.
